Built-in safeguards

Reads Well on Camera. Obvious in the Hand.

Every note carries four safeguards. They are part of the design, not an option.

One side only

The reverse is blank. Stacks are banded so the blank side never faces the lens.

Deliberately off-size

95 × 45 mm standard notes — under 75% of the smallest Australian banknote. Classroom notes are oversized.

PROP overprint

A large PROP across every face, plus MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY and NOT LEGAL TENDER.

Invented design

Our own Studio Series portraits, seals and colours. No real currency is copied.

Prop money in Australia

Where to Buy Prop Money in Australia

We supply prop money to Australian film and TV productions, theatre companies, music video crews, photographers, content creators and schools. Every order ships tracked to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Darwin, Canberra and regional Australia, with express dispatch for productions on a tight schedule.

Our prop money is designed to read as cash on screen while staying clearly within the law: one-sided, under 75% of the size of the smallest Australian banknote, overprinted PROP, and printed with our own invented designs rather than copies of real notes.

Questions

Prop Money FAQ

Is this real money?
No. Every note is a theatrical prop. They are printed on one side only, sized under 75% of the smallest Australian banknote (or much larger, for classroom sets), overprinted PROP with MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY and NOT LEGAL TENDER, and use invented designs that do not copy any real currency.
Is prop money legal in Australia?
Owning and using clearly marked prop money for film, theatre, photography and education is legal. The Reserve Bank of Australia allows reproductions that are one-sided and under 75% (or over 150%) of a real note's length and width, and our notes go further with invented designs and a PROP overprint. Trying to use any prop money as payment is a crime under the Crimes (Currency) Act 1981.
What can I use prop money for?
Film, TV, theatre, music videos, photography, advertising, content creation, cosplay, escape rooms, classroom lessons and cashier training.
How does it look on camera?
At mid and wide shot distances the colours, banding and stack heights read as cash. In an extreme close-up the PROP overprint is visible by design. For close-ups of hands counting notes, most productions use a full-print stack and frame on the edges.
What is the difference between full-print and filler stacks?
Full-print stacks have every note printed. Filler stacks have a printed note on the top and bottom with blank prop paper in between. Use full-print for anything handled on camera and filler to dress cases, bags and tables cheaply.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes. We ship to every state and territory with tracked delivery, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Darwin and Canberra. Express dispatch is available for productions on a deadline.
